[ Yellow had awoken a few minutes ago and stepped out of one of the classrooms, stretching. It was sometime in the afternoon, school had ended, yet the blonde still wore her signature straw hat, proud to don the gift of a friend. It had been much too long since the last time our petite little healer had taken even a measly baby step out of her room, and it was about time she’d done so! With a skip, a hop, and a jump, she was off in the snap of a finger, running outside and toward the school’s campus. Upon arrival, she twirled around, this huge, childish grin on her face.
The Pokemon Fanatic stopped twirling and looked up at the tree branches above her— tree branches that were dotted with leaves of shades ranging from green to her own name, yellow. ]
“Que lindo es la naturaleza…” [ They pulled her away almost automatically from any of her previous musings that she might have had. Letting herself fall onto the ground to sit under the tree, she opened the sketchbook she’d always kept with her (this whole time, throughout all these actions, her sketchbook had always been in her arms) and began to draw what she saw. That being the leaves on the trees, of course.
When approached, she would be too focused on her drawings to notice the other. Would you still like to approach Yellow anyway? ]

Yellow feels a bit nervous around machines, and has never encountered a robot, to my knowledge? She worries they may cause more harm than good, but then again, she strays from this type of talk in general. She’s not one for controversy or anything.

[ Condoms? Must be some new chat lingo. Yellow didn’t know, but decided to agree with the boy. She shrugs a shoulder kind of nonchalantly to show this. Who’s Dawn, though? She wanted to ask, but the way the boy spoke… ]

“Technically speaking, yes. It’s Amarillo, which is Yellow in Spanish.”
[ Yellow waves some and smiles. ]
“Hello! Is there something you need?”
It’s generally accepted that this is what is in Yellow’s arsenal of Viridian-blessed powers: healing, mind/heart-reading, minor telekinesis, and, as TVtropes calls it, Super Empowering, AKA holy-shit-how-did-her-Pokemon-jump-up-like-fifty-levels. However, re-reading the Yellow arc made me realize that she may have yet another power.
At the climax of her arc, Lance planned to control Lugia with the energy released by the giant badge amplifier. Pika, then Yellow, realized that the only way to stop him was to blow the energy away with a bigger burst of energy.
The Kanto starters fired their attacks up the String Shot that fell to the ground and was attached to Yellow’s arm. Looking at the two-page spread that features her final attack on Lance, it appears that Yellow somehow absorbed their attacks right into her hand to power up Pika’s Megavolt and some kind of laser shot from her pointer finger. After that, the badge energy meant to control Lugia was converted into healing energy, which Lugia then directed onto the Kanto mainland, resulting in a wasteland devastated by pollution transforming into a lush field.
In short, Yellow can absorb and convert massive amounts of energy to greatly amplify the effects of her other powers.
Hot damn. Yellow has literal near god-like potential. Thank whoever is up there that she’s one of the nicest characters in the series.That’s actually a pretty good theory.
I’m kinda glad that the Viridian powers were kind of left alone after this particular chapter (except for the healing part). As useful as those powers are, they can be troublesome to Yellow and then the costs really outweigh the benefit of her powers.
Besides, overusing her powers is a bit of an overkill.
